There was a World War something song we had to learn in the sixth grade. Red sails in the sunset. I couldn’t help but remember that song this last weekend while we spent an evening along the shores of the Salish Sea.

The spectacular sunsets we’re experiencing here in the west are due to all the forest fires. My heart goes out to the families who’ve lost their loved ones as they bravely battled the blazes and I salute all those who fight the fires. Where would we be without your sacrifice? Here’s to you.
Just learned my in-laws are in danger and have been ordered to immediately evacuate. My prayers go out to everyone losing everything in all these fires too.
Sunsets are truly beautiful , each on is different and never the same. The red in these sunsets are truly a reminder of that.

What a wonderful song and tribute to those who did lose loved ones and battled the fires. My heart goes out to them as well. Very thoughtful of you to post this. Nat King Cole had the most amazing voice…so talented!! Your photos are so beautiful, looks so peaceful!
