Writing 101: Aftermath
I have not had a chance to meet you all yet and I am truly going to miss that . . . I haven’t had a chance to figure out how to find new bloggers like myself on WordPress . . . I only see people I already follow or Fresh pressed people, where I thought anyone who freshly posted something would show up at, but I guess not.
I’m afraid of loosing my opportunity to meet you all.
I sure hope to meet you all somehow. I went ahead and tagged this post Writing 101 with that hope in mind.
News:
- Prayer chain to all those undergoing quakes and tornadoes. Oneta, I’m thinking you are not alone.
- I’ve been nominated for another award, the Premio Dardos Award.
Cindy Knapper of A slice of life is the wonderful blogger who nominated me. Thank you Cindy. It might be a little while before I get to perform those requirements.
What I have yet to discover is a place that thoroughly explains WordPress to me, where I can discover how to navigate and even find where to take more “classes”. I came across Writing 101 class by navigational accident.
I know others who would like to have a blog and they are counting on me to figure all this out so that I can help them. That’s a scary thought.
- Hey, if people still want daily prompts I have something that might help. I have multiple lists of memory triggers within my Writing Life Stories section. Just scroll down and click a session and the memory triggers are always towards the end of the post. If you happen to use a trigger from there, please let me know so I can read what you wrote! Maybe we could link to those articles from here? If so, then we’d all still have opportunities to meet and greet without having to be Freshly Pressed?
Of course, I don’t really know what I’m talking about and count on bloggers who leave comments to educate me and the others who happen to read this. Maybe I’m the only one who remains ignorant of the way things work around here. Nah. I’m never the only one in anything. Others are just waiting for me to play the fool and ask the questions for them. I do know how that works.
- Lastly, let me know what you think about my new “customized” photo header. I am learning WordPress and came across customize area and thought I’d try it out. My header art is a part of a painting I’m working on. I also went a little crazy checking out the calendar and all those other thingiemajigs under the customization area. I might have gone a little overboard.
Keep safe, keep writing and keep on keeping on.

When you figure out what “freshly pressed” is all about, I would be interested in knowing…also how to copywrite our articles…Good article, I sure enjoyed it!

I have a copyright notice on my home /about page. Your work is already yours. I’d invest in Copyscape ($5/yr) so you can check on where else your words might show up. If you ever see your work posted by someone else, you have every right to demand they take it down or suffer the consequences.

Well, that is if you never gave them permission, of course. http://copyscape.com/
For copyright info: ” When is my work protected?

You can sell certain rights of your work too, like first rights to a piece, and still retain the rights to sell it again or use it yourself.

Thank you. Spring melt in the high country of my imagination. In painting it as if I’m in a cave looking out—and the cave is being checked out as a den by a pair of_________________(that will be my surprise for later but folks are welcome to make a guess. Perhaps there will be some prize for those who guess correctly.) 🙂

yes we should definitely get more opportunities to find new bloggers…
the blogging u home page has several classes and daily prompts u can check it out…
and freshly pressed articles are selected by the word press people, there is a team of people who read … and then select an article which they find good enough to be featured there.

Thank you Nooryak. Wow, a team of readers. Could you (or someone) put a link up to the blogging U page? That’s what I don’t know how to re-find. That’s what I found by accident.

You stopped by my place so I thought I’d come to yours. Glad I did, only read the one piece so far and already impressed 🙂 I do have a question – what is the Premio Dardos Award?

You’ll see that I linked to Cindy’s blog. She seemed to explain it pretty well. I didn’t know what it was until I read her page. 🙂 Here’s her link again. http://blainecindy.com/awards-accomplishments/awards/premio-dardos-award/
